Click for audio: The Prayer of Healing
Someone asked, in light of the prayer outline I discussed, if I would talk about prayer as it relates specifically to healing.
Imagination: Start with the truth that, spiritually speaking, you are already whole. Your soul is complete and this wholeness, despite appearances, is now radiating through your mind, body and affairs. Opening your mind to this wholeness is utilizing the intuitive aspect of your imagination. Envisioning this radiant wholeness initiates the visualizing aspect of the imagination.
Denial: I now release all negative imagery concerning my body. I release all fear, all stress, all need to force healing.
Spend a few moments letting go. As you experience a measure of freedom, speak the following words and let yourself experience the truth you are declaring:
Affirmation: The wholeness I seek is now established in my mind, my body and my affairs. I experience the peace of freedom knowing my soul is complete and my completeness expresses as wholeness through my body. Thank You, God.
Faith: Turn the power of your faith to expectation of your spiritual wholeness radiating through your body.
Will: Become willing to know the intelligence of God in you knows how to bring about the truth of your wholeness. Keep your mental and emotional energies focused in the direction of your wholeness.
Judgment: Do not judge by appearances that run counter to your expectation of wholeness. Should you receive an unfavorable report from your doctor or a new pain arises, do not let this cause you to waver in your conviction of wholeness. Stay with the healing course.
Release: Let go of all thoughts and emotions that run counter to the wholeness you desire. Quietly say no to those negative images and that negative energy that will arise. See yourself as a free-flowing conduit for the healing energy of life and release everything that does not fit this vision.
Repeat this healing prayer process as often as you need it throughout your day. Start it first thing in the morning and close your day with it as you go to sleep at night. Pray without ceasing, as Paul suggested.
